Editing, Dragging & Export

This page is for the moment when you have already started building a calculation page and need to reorganize it. The focus is what to do in common editing situations.

Drag numbers

To move a number into another formula, select it first, then drag it to the target position.

Use this when you want to:

  • Reuse an existing result in another formula
  • Rearrange the calculation order inside one line
  • Reposition content in free layout

Drag an entire formula row

To reorder a formula, select the = sign first, then drag the whole row.

  • In vertical layout, this is usually for changing row order.
  • In free layout, you can also place the row in a new position on the canvas.

Add dividers and notes

Besides numbers and formulas, you can insert text content to:

  • Add a heading
  • Create a section break
  • Leave a note
  • Explain a group of formulas

If one page contains several topics, adding dividers first and then dragging items into place is clearer than stacking formulas only.

Copy content

Long-press a number or formula to copy it, then paste it into another app.

  • If you only want to show someone the result, copying or exporting an image is usually clearer.
  • If you need to preserve the full structure, export a file.

Export an image

Open the export menu from the top toolbar and choose Save Image to export the current calculation page as an image.

Use image export for:

  • Sharing with coworkers or friends
  • Sending to chat, notes, or social apps
  • Keeping a presentation-ready snapshot of a calculation

Export a file

Open the export menu from the top toolbar and choose Save File to export a .flexicalc file.

Use file export for:

  • Backing up the current page
  • Moving a page between devices
  • Sending a page to another FlexiCalc user for further editing

Import a file

In the page list, tap Import to import a .flexicalc file as a new calculation page.
